Behind the Veil

Everyone noticed my efforts for perfection,

But no one saw where it came from.

Veiled, it’s all my fear not to lose more light,

And my pursuit for a calm night.

I grew up hearing about acceptance of letting go,

But it’s not only about the life flow.

Veiled, it’s more about the depth of the bond,

And the feelings that go beyond.

Everyone praised me for having no expectations,

But no one ever had any observations.

Veiled, it’s due to those unspoken loud negotiations,

And my inability to hope, limited by their actions.

I grew up learning to run away from imperfections,

But it’s not only about fitting into one’s questions.

Veiled, it’s more about embracing what life provides,

          And finding rhythm in our unrhythmic minds.
